Development Coordinator

The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF) is the original grassroots conservative organization in the nation. For more than fifty years, ACUF has served as the umbrella organization harnessing the collective strength of conservative organizations fighting for Americans who are concerned with liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values, and strong national defense. Its mission is to unite and mobilize conservatives around the basic tenets of conservatism. ACUF seeks to educate citizens about conservative principles.

The American Conservative Union Foundation seeks to hire a Development Coordinator. The Development Coordinator serves as a key member of the development team and is responsible for the administrative and operational support of the development team.

Working in collaboration with ACUF colleagues, board members, and other volunteers, the Development Coordinator plays a critical role on the development team by managing all the logistics for donor outreach. S/he will also assist with donor research and reporting, event planning, gift acknowledgement and data entry, and other development related administrative duties.

Additionally, as needed, the Development Coordinator will assist the Director of Government Affairs with development related activities.

The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development. This position is based in Alexandria, VA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the development team to include travel arrangements, answering phone calls and emails, running database reports and researching donors and prospects
  • Maintain and update the development calendar and coordinate monthly with the Chairman and the Executive Director’s Executive Assistant and other Directors to ensure development constituencies are cultivated and included in development activities
  • Manage the membership in the ACUF donors circle, The Ronald Reagan Circle, and work with Development Staff to promote and market to individual donors
  • Manage the planning of small regional donor events and other special events as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with ACUF development and program staff to assist in securing funding for designated priorities, including unrestricted support, CPAC Sponsorships, and other specified priorities
  • Assist in the development of donor outreach strategies to improve ACUF’s visibility including managing special projects
  • Work with gift processing staff to provide monthly/quarterly income forecasting

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous work at a free market, pro-liberty organization preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; working knowledge of Sales Force software highly desirable
