ACU Endorses Josh Hawley

Washington, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced its endorsement of Josh Hawley, the leading conservative in Missouri’s race for Attorney General. The seat is currently held by Democrat Chris Koster, who is running for Governor.

“Josh Hawley will bring refreshing conservative change to the Attorney General’s office,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “When it comes to conservative values, Josh Hawley has a record of proven leadership. Fighting for religious freedom, Hawley served as co-counsel on the landmark Hobby Lobby case that resulted in a Supreme Court decision protecting the right of family-owned businesses to practice their faith and he will bring that fighting spirit to elective office. I urge all conservatives to vote for Josh Hawley in the Republican Primary on August 2nd.”

Josh Hawley responded to ACU’s endorsement by saying, "I'm honored to receive the endorsement of the American Conservative Union, one of our nation's strongest advocates for promoting our constitutional rights, personal responsibility and limited government. This endorsement continues the strong momentum for our grassroots campaign that is focused on the conservative principles that have made our country free and prosperous."

Founded in 1964, the American Conservative Union is the nation’s original conservative organization.  For more than fifty years, ACU has served as an umbrella organization harnessing the collective strength of conservative organizations fighting for Americans who are concerned with liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values, and strong national defense.  As one of America's premier conservative voices, ACU promotes a conservative vision on issues before Congress, the Executive Branch, State Legislatures, the media, political candidates, and the public.
