Jackie Arends is a partner at a global executive search firm. She leads the firm’s Aviation, Aerospace & Defense and U.S. government relations portfolios, specializing in both federal and global senior-level searches.

With more than 20 years of senior-level Washington, political and U.S. government experience, Jackie served as special assistant and key advisor to George W. Bush, the President of the United States, and was responsible for the selection and appointment of the deputy secretary, undersecretaries and assistant secretaries as well as members of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Defense Facilities Nuclear Safety Board. Earlier in her career, Jackie advised President George H.W. Bush on appointments to the Presidential boards and commissions.

Her portfolio included the Departments of Defense, Energy, Homeland Security, State and Veterans Affairs, Arms Control and the Disarmament Agency, as well as national security agencies such as the CIA and NASA.

Jackie received her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law and is a graduate of Middlebury College. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Maryland Bar and the Supreme Court Bar. She is the recipient of the Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Public Service and the Secretary of the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award.
