WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) today encouraged interested media and bloggers to register for credentials to cover CPAC Chicago on Friday, June 8, the first of a series of regional Conservative Political Action Conferences in 2012.
Every year, the ACU brings thousands of grassroots conservatives and conservative leaders together in Washington, DC for three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional values. This summer, CPAC is going back on the road. CPAC Chicago is taking the fight for the future of America directly to President Barack Obama’s backyard, the site of broken promises make to the American people on his election night in 2008. This one-day regional conference will energize and mobilize Midwestern conservatives, giving activists the tools needed to defeat the liberal agenda in 2012, while also highlighting rising conservative stars in the region.
Media & Blogger Credentialing:
CPAC Chicago is open to the press and the ACU welcomes members of the media and blogosphere to cover the conference’s full agenda of speeches, panels and special events. All media who plan to cover the event must apply for credentials. Applications are available online by visiting conservative.org/cpacchicago/media/request-credentials.?
The deadline for advance media registration is close of business on Monday, June 4, 2012. Confirmations of admittance will be made via email. Onsite media registration will be available, contingent on availability, but advance registration is strongly encouraged.
Credentials will be available for pick up on Thursday, June 7th from 4:00-7:00 PM or on Friday, June 8th starting at 7:30 AM CDT. Valid photo identification must be produced upon check-in, including a current year news media credential issued by a law enforcement or governmental agency or a state driver’s license or Passport. Previous accreditation to CPAC events does not guarantee the issuance of media or blogger credentials for CPAC Chicago. Additional details on credentialing and terms of coverage are available at conservative.org/cpacchicago/media/media-information.
Media & Blogger Check-in, Logistics and Technical Information:
A full itinerary of the conference’s events and logistical and technical information will be sent in advance to registered and confirmed media outlets and bloggers.
News organizations may live stream the CPAC Chicago program in its entirety, upload video content to websites and/or archive footage.
For planning purposes, media and blogger check-in will be available beginning Thursday evening, June 7, at a time to be announced. Day-of check-in will be available in the morning and continuing throughout the day.
