ACU'S TOWNHALL ROADTRIP ACROSS AMERICA PROVES PRO-OBAMA FORCES ARE ORGANIZING ... BUT VOTERS ARE STILL OPPOSED TO LIBERAL LEADER'S HEALTH CARE PLANS

ALEXANDRIA, VA - Monday the American Conservative Union launched the TOWNHALL ROADTRIP ACROSS AMERICA to provide first-hand accounts of what is really happening in Congressional town hall meetings this month.

Since that time the ACU staff has travelled throughout the United States and ACU Members have reported back on what is happening in their local Town Hall Meetings.

What has become clear is that despite the White House claims that the media is playing into the "Astroturf" nature of townhall protests, the reality is the President's allies have been given unprecedented access to Democrat town hall meetings yet the voters are still adamantly opposed to their plans. Proof is in the photos available on ACU's ROADTRIP website.

Pelosi and the Obama administration call it "Astroturf" when average Americans express their opinions; however when pro-Obama groups set up tables and distribute literature is "organizing for America."

"In spite of the White House's continuing campaign to demonize American voters who question the wisdom of his health care scheme, thousands of people are continuing to show up at Congressional Town Hall meetings around the country," said Chairman David Keene.

"ACU is determined to provide accurate, unfiltered reports on these meetings and we know that the only way to do this is to send our own people out to report from the meetings themselves as people question their elected officials about the wisdom of voting for bills few members of Congress have yet bothered to read and fewer still understand," Keene added.

Monday ACU launched its ROADTRIP to gather information in addition to reports received from Members nationwide. ACU staff has now picked up first-hand accounts of what is really happening on-the-ground at the Congressional town hall meetings.

The result? ACU has confirmed that pro-Obama groups have been given unprecedented access to set up tables, distribute information and even place "homemade" signs around Democrat lawmakers while pro-free enterprise groups have been cast to the sidelines. The information has been placed on ACU's website at http://www.conservative.org.

"It is clear that Obama, Pelosi and Reid have tried to stack the deck at these town hall meetings," said Dennis Whitfield, former Deputy Secretary at the Labor Department and now Executive Vice President of the American Conservative Union, "However, despite their efforts average Americans are turning out in droves to say 'NO' to the Pelsoi, Reid, Obama health care plans."

ACU set up a special webpage to report on its ROADTRIP available at the ACU website http://www.conservative.org/.

On the site Americans can see first-hand that Obama's allies are trying to control the debate at the town hall meetings. In addition, ACU is providing hour-by-hour updates via its Twitter feed which is linked to the site.

ACU will continue providing information on both Democrat and Republican town hall meetings via its ACU TOWNHALL ROADTRIP ACROSS AMERICA.
