Dublin, VA - Constituents of Congressman Rick Boucher today spoke out against the pending health care bills before Congress in a Town Hall meeting held at New River Valley Community College.
Boucher constituent Bill Huber a Management Consultant from Blacksburg, VA said he was there to urge Boucher to support tort reform or portability. He said Boucher should support "real solutions instead of trying to create this monster."
Boucher constituent Morris Witten a Retired Public School Administrator said he was there to ask Boucher "how far he intends to take the system we are now heading to..." Witten expressed concern over the massive government spending in Washington and a slide toward socialism within the health care proposals.
Boucher constituent Al Bedrosian said government should stay out of the health care free market system.
The American Conservative Union has been actively informing its members about Town Hall meetings across America to give citizens an opportunity to voice their concerns about the cost, size and complexities in the current health care proposals before Congress.
ACU is conducting a Townhall Roadtrip Across America. Today's townhall was one stop along the trip.
In announcing the TOWNHALL ROADTRIP project ACU Chairman David Keene said, "In spite of the White House's continuing campaign to demonize American voters who question the wisdom of his health care scheme, thousands of people are continuing to show up at Congressional Town Hall meetings around the country."
"ACU is determined to provide accurate reports on these meetings as people question their elected officials about the wisdom of voting for bills few members of Congress have yet bothered to read and fewer still understand."
