ACU Members Travel to Washington to Stand at the Capitol in a Call to Eliminate Wasteful Spending

WASHINGTON, DC - ACU activists from around the country today traveled to Washington to stand on the grounds of the nation's Capitol and join in the call to eliminate wasteful spending.

They came to support the new Republican Study Committee Sunset Caucus which has dedicated itself to identifying and eliminating wasteful and duplicative programs that do not serve the taxpayers.  The Caucus kicked off their efforts at an event today.

Mark and Ian Hutchinson, a father and son who traveled from Mays Landing, New Jersey to join other ACU activists at the event expressed their excitement in being there to support the efforts of the Sunset Caucus.  They called it "awesome" and said, "We need to stand up to put a stop to all of the spending."

Bob Bauman, a small business owner from Severna Park, Maryland and an ACU Member said, "I am here because of my grandchildren and the debt they are going to have to pay off."  He added that Congress needs to be more accountable for its spending and vigilant against wasteful earmarks.

Charlotte Pope of Romney, West Virginia another ACU activist who also attended the event at the Capitol said, "Stop the spending our country is broke!  The wild spending is out-of-control."  She appreciates the efforts of the new Sunset Caucus to bring Members of Congress and citizens together to eliminate wasteful programs.  "The Caucus is a great start to bring people together who are frustrated that they have had no way to voice their concerns," she added.

Mark, Ian, Bob and Charlotte were just some of the many ACU Members who took time off from family and work responsibilities in an effort to represent the hundreds of thousands of ACU Members and Activists who support efforts to rein in wasteful spending.
