Novak
vs. Donaldson:
The Great CPAC 2005 Bias in the Media Debate
32nd
Annual CPAC Will Play Host to Verbal Pugilism Between Two Media
Heavyweights
December
7, 2004
ALEXANDRIA,
VA - ABC News' Sam Donaldson and nationally syndicated columnist
Robert Novak will square off during the 32nd annual Conservative
Political Action Conference (CPAC) to debate the question of bias
in the media, David A. Keene, chairman of the American Conservative
Union, announced today.
The
Great Media Bias Debate is scheduled for 11 a.m., February 17, 2005
during the first day of CPAC at the Ronald Reagan Building and International
Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
"These
two veteran newsmen have squared off before and the Great Media
Bias Debate always has been one of the most popular highlights of
the CPAC program," Keene said. "Both Sam Donaldson and
Bob Novak are great friends of CPAC and we look forward once again
to watching these two heavyweights going toe-to-toe.
"With
all the recent attention to the issue of bias in the media-from
Dan Rather's meltdown at CBS over the 60 Minutes forged documents
debacle to the elite media ignoring the Swift Boat Veterans for
Truth-this topic is red hot. I can't think of two better, more seasoned
or respected newsmen to debate the subject."
CPAC
is a project of the American Conservative Union Foundation, in association
with Young America's Foundation and Human Events. The conference
is co-sponsored by over 70 of the nation's leading conservative
organizations. For continued updates on the program or to register
online, visit www.cpac.org.
"CPAC"
is not a "political action committee (PAC)" as defined
by federal law. The conference name and initials predate the creation
of those entities and is merely coincidental.
