Washington, D.C. – Today, Senator John Cornyn addressed an enthusiastic crowd of conservative activists at CPAC 2014 – a celebration of 50 years of the ACU and America’s largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists.

"The importance of accountability in our government and the shocking abandon of accountability by the Obama Administration," said Senator Cornyn. "We as a nation celebrate accountability and of course it makes sense to do so...because this entire experiment with self-government depends on it."

Cornyn concluded, "Here's the simple fact about conservatives, we're pretty good at keeping people accountable...We must lead the charge all over the electoral map."

The Honorable John Cornyn is a U.S. Senator from Texas. During his first term in the Senate, Cornyn earned a national reputation as a powerful voice for conservative values. He is committed to our national defense, repairing our broken immigration system, boosting access to more affordable health care, strengthening the economy and expanding job opportunities, keeping taxes low, and reducing spending. Senator Cornyn has been a member of the Republican Senate leadership since 2006. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference and the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee for the 2010 and 2012 election cycles. In 2012, he served as Minority Whip for the 113th Congress. Senator Cornyn currently sits on the Senate Finance and Judiciary Committee.

CPAC is taking place March 6-8, 2014 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, offering three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional American values.
