Washington, D.C. –  The American Conservative Union (ACU) Political Action Committee (PAC) today announced its endorsement of Idaho’s conservative leaders, Senator Jim Risch and Congressman Raul Labrador (ID-02)
“ACU PAC is pleased to endorse Idaho’s two conservative leaders in Congress.  During his five years in the Senate, Jim Risch has been one of the most consistent conservatives as indicated by his ACU lifetime rating of 96.  As a senior member of the Senate Energy Committee, Senator Risch has fought the Obama Administration’s efforts to suppress domestic energy production which in turn has suppressed our economic recovery.  Congressman Raul Labrador has been a leader in the fight for religious freedom and to protect Idaho land from acquisition by the federal government.  He was one of only 16 members of the House to score a perfect 100 in the ACU ratings for 2013.  Conservatives in Idaho should enthusiastically support Senator Risch and Congressman Labrador for reelection in the Republican Primary May 20 and again in November,” said ACU Director of Government Relations Larry Hart.

The ACU Political Action Committee is the political arm of the American Conservative Union, the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. The committee supports candidates for office who reflect the conservative principles on which ACU was founded. The goals of the ACU PAC are to increase the number of quality candidates who share our commitment to conservative principles and to protecting and advancing the fiscal, social and security priorities of the Reagan era. These funds are utilized in conjunction with endorsements and public announcements to communicate our support for chosen candidates to their constituents and conservatives across the nation.

The ACU recently announced its 2013 Ratings of Congress, the 43rd edition of the conservative ratings guide. For more information on the ACU PAC or to download the full 2013 Ratings of Congress, please visit
