WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF) today announced the addition of members to the ACU Foundation Board of Directors.
“I’m pleased to announce the new members of the ACUF board of directors,” said Carly Fiorina, Chairman of the ACU Foundation. “These individuals have dedicated themselves to the conservative movement and I believe they will help us influence and educate the next generation of conservatives.”
Kimberly Bellissimo is the co-founder, President and CEO of Base Connect, a direct mail fundraising company that helps federal and state conservative candidates, conservative nonprofit advocacy organizations and political action committees, as well as patriotic and conservative leaning charitable organizations.
José R. Cárdenas has nearly thirty years of experience in the Washington political process and inter-American relations. He has served in senior positions in the U.S. Department of State, the National Security Council, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. He has served as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States and as a Senior Professional Staff Member of U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
The Honorable Matt Schlapp served as White House Political Director to President George W. Bush in his first term. His Congressional experience started in the Republican wave of 1994 where he worked as Chief of Staff to Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-KS.) Schlapp is co-founder of Cove Strategies, a legislative, communications and political consulting firm. He has been a member of the ACU Board of Director for seven years and currently serves as Second Vice Chairman.
Willes Lee is the Hawaii Republican Assembly National Director, National Federation of Republican Assemblies Pacific Region Vice President and a former Hawaii Republican Party Chairman. He is a U.S. Military Academy graduate. Lee is a retired Army officer and airborne Ranger with degrees in engineering and public administration.
