Washington, D.C. – Today, Daniel Schneider, the Executive Director of the American Conservative Union (ACU), opened up CPAC 2014. The first of many speakers throughout the premiere annual conservative summit, Schneider welcomed conservative visitors from around the country.

Addressing a crowd of excited conservative activists, Schneider said, “Welcome to the 41st Annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Over the next few days you will hear from a variety of great speakers and panelists on a diverse set of topics. I want to give a special thanks to our presenting sponsors: the National Rifle Association, One America News Network, Tea Party Patriots, Townhall Media/Regenry Publishing, and the Washington Times. This conference will be a success if you have an opportunity to interact with our speakers and take the time to attend our panel discussions. Thank you for joining us this morning as we kick off CPAC 2014."

Dan Schneider serves as Executive Director of the American Conservative Union (ACU), America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. He has dedicated his career to supporting conservative ideals at the highest levels of government as well as leading grassroots advocacy on the most important issues in the conservative movement.

Dan has a long and distinguished career in public policy, starting with his job as chief of staff to conservative stalwart former Congressman Jim Ryun (R-KS).  He was then recruited into the U.S. Department of Labor as White House Liaison under Secretary Elaine L. Chao in the first term of the George W. Bush administration, and served in both the White House and at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as an acting assistant secretary.  Most recently, Dan advised U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on the selection of conservative candidates for federal board positions. He is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, an Eagle Scout, a former board member of Americans United for Life and served two faith-based missions in the Peoples’ Republic of China.

Dan and his wife of 20 years, Gisella, have three boys and live in Virginia.

CPAC is taking place March 6-8, 2014 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, offering three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional American values.
