WASHINGTON DC – The American Conservative Union (ACU) announced that Governor Matt Bevin and Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton of Kentucky will participate in this February’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), to be held Feb 22-25th at National Harbor, Maryland. Gov. Bevin has been an advocate for small business owners, repealing Obamacare, and reforming Kentucky’s education system. Gov. Bevin is also an Army veteran who achieved the rank of captain and earned the Army Achievement Medal.
Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton also served her country as a seven-year veteran of the United States Air Force where she worked as a computer systems officer and she has nearly 25 years of experience in various manufacturing industries. Hampton is currently focusing her efforts on four areas: entrepreneurship, educational reforms, emergency preparedness, and serving as an exemplar.
CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp said “Under Gov. Bevin’s leadership, conservatives took control of the House for the first time in over a hundred years and Kentucky is sure to thrive during his administration. Both Bevin and Lt. Gov. Hampton are outsiders that voters decided would bring a much-needed, fresh perspective to governing. They have made great progress in reforming the way government works and are proving that conservative reforms improve peoples’ lives,” said Schlapp.
“Last November at the ballot box, hard working, tax paying Americans resoundingly rejected the idea of bigger government in elections all across our nation,” said Gov. Bevin. “Increased fiscal responsibility, more local control and common sense reforms, such as Kentucky’s Red Tape Reduction initiative, are more attractive to voters than ever. People are hungry for a government that unapologetically fights for our citizens’ inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The slumbering giant of freedom and individual responsibility has been aroused from its state of apathy and the world will be better as a result.”
“I’m excited for the opportunity to share my perspectives with a community who is not only interested in discussing conservative principles but also translating those principles into action,” said Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton.
CPAC 2017 will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at the National Harbor in Maryland, February 22nd through the 25th. This year’s theme is “We the People: Reclaiming America’s Promise.” For more information about CPAC, or to register as an attendee or as media, please visit http://cpac.conservative.org/.
