WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) announced today that Senator Marco Rubio of Florida will deliver the opening keynote address at CPAC Colorado in Denver where, the night before, the first Presidential debate of this cycle will take place only minutes away.
CPAC Colorado serves as the second in a series of regional conferences in 2012, designed to to mobilize Mountain West conservatives while highlighting conservative stars and issues in the region.
“My friend Marco Rubio has quickly become one of our nation’s most prominent conservative leaders. I am proud that he has agreed to open CPAC Colorado, a pivotal gathering of conservatives from across the nation as it falls on the heels of an inspiring Republican National Convention and exactly one month before one of the most crucial elections in our nation’s history,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “Senator Rubio’s participation will serve as motivation to CPAC attendees and conservatives across the country to take action and get involved in these final 60 days.”
The ACU is teaming up with CitizenLink, The Heritage Foundation, Independence Institute, and the Common Sense Policy Roundtable to bring national and regional leaders together with local grassroots activists for a day of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities — all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional values. Featured speakers for CPAC Colorado include Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, business leader and ACU Board member Carly Fiorina, American Spectator Senior Editor John Fund, National Rifle Association President and ACU Board member David Keene, U.S. Representative Doug Lamborn (R-CO), syndicated talk radio host Dana Loesch, and others.
Other invited speakers include: Glenn Beck, Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuño, Hugh Hewitt, Laura Ingraham, Peggy Noonan, Chuck Norris, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, former Massachusetts Governor and GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney, U.S. Representative Paul Ryan, and many others.
Registration is currently open and advance rates are available only until September 30. A 20% discount is available for all active and retired military personnel with promo code VETERAN. For additional information, visit conservative.org.
The American Conservative Union is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization and was founded in 1964. The ACU has hosted CPAC in the Nation’s Capital since 1973.
