Declaración de Al Cárdenas Sobre Propuesta Reforma Migratoria

“Me parece que un creciente número de demócratas y republicanos en el Congreso han llegado a un acuerdo basado en principios comunes para reformar el sistema de inmigración del país.

Felicito a legisladores de ambos partidos en la creación de un marco responsable para tratar éste asunto.  Transformar estos principios en un paquete legislativo no será fácil, pero el Senado ha tenido un buen comienzo y exhorto a que la Cámara de Representantes sigan en sus pasos.

Como resultado de las órdenes ejecutivas establecidas por la Casa Blanca, tenemos en el presente una de facto estado de amnistía que sólo puede ser atendido a través del marco legislativo.  Pronto sabremos si el presidente Obama está más interesado en solucionar los problemas de inmigración ó en politiquear con el asunto.  El movimiento conservador está dispuesto a apoyar una reforma migratoria razonable.

Espero que el presidente use su discurso sobre el estado de la unión para discutir como resolver mucho más que los obstáculos migratorios.  Mi esperanza es que él esté preparado para trabajar en conjunto y crear soluciones bipartidistas para manejar la crisis económica que enfrenta nuestra nación.  Ahora es el turno del presidente Obama.”
