Editor: Very good article “Psychiatric Drugs at Newton“ by David. Kupelian, asking questions that should be asked until someone has answers. WHY did Mrs. Lanza home-school him? What was she asking from the school board that she felt they couldn’t or wouldn’t deliver? Was he demonstrating that he was getting sufficiently good grades such that he could no longer qualify as a special ed student? Was he showing that, because he could sort of get along with the other really smart, science-oriented, nerdy kids, that he was now socializing normally? In what grade/grades did she take him out to home-school him? For how long? For what exact reasons? Didn’t she think that taking him out would be removing him from whatever social success he was having, however small, further isolating him? It was reported that she was considering placing him away from home, perhaps in a residential school (at age 20?) which, if she did, would be pulling the rug out from under him in a final, distancing gesture? Many people call Adam a monster, and he did a monstrous deed. But somewhere along the way I believe this boy’s life felt to him like a shattered glass. Why he chose the little ones at Sandy Hook…who can say? Vera Karger
