Editor: Regarding “Mythical Presidential Horserace,” why not run a poll to find out who the respondent will “NOT vote for”? Everett
Editor: “Mythical Presidential Horserace” is an excellent piece and is a fresh perspective. I completely agree with the Jay Rosen quote: the media love polls because they are an “objective” source and the journalist first, doesn’t have to do the work involved of discussing issues and second, can’t be blamed for the outcome. I would just add that there are so many polling sources today that reputable polls get mixed up with fly-by-night polls to create a poll “average” which really means even less than the individual polls themselves. I also agree that polls on cultural issues are far more valuable than “horserace” polls in elections. Larry Hart
Editor: Regarding “Mythical Presidential Horserace,” I respond with a 30-Day Notice to Barack Obama: Termination of Employment. John W. Lillpop
Editor: Thank you for publishing ConservativeBattleline, and particularly “Ryan’s Welfare Morality.” It is great info!!! However, I have two complaints. You don’t have the cover sheet (table of contents) on issue #212. This is helpful because I can check off the articles we have read, and make notes to others on this page. Please continue to use the table of contents. The most important complaint is that I can’t print the issue #211, because a message comes up saying it can’t be found. Can you help me with this problem? Thanks again for the great publication. Michael
Editor: Thanks for Alan Caruba’s article “Obama Jilts Dowd.” I have read her articles for years, to find our how the OPPOSITION felt. I had repeatedly been offended by her hatred articles about the BUSHES. Her appraisal of Obama’s acceptance speech was refreshing. Jere P. McClure, M.D.
Editor: Thanks to ConservativeBattleline for your conservative efforts. I loved the “Obama Jilts Dowd” column by Alan Caruba. We along with our friends have been so worried about the possibility of Obama being re-elected because of the disgusting media bias we see day in and day out that we are working on our very own efforts in of all places Illinois. Oct. 10, through Nov. 6, we will have a few Romney/Ryan ads on an electronic billboard in Rockford, Illinois. It may not help here but we don’t care; we want the public to see that people here do want to try and turn this state red. We will also have a billboard in Wisconsin. Just wanted you to know that even we “little people” are contributing to the effort to save the soul of America. The U.S.A. can come back if our leaders and citizens have enough fortitude to make it happen. We need to have term limits for members of Congress (maybe) and the big pensions for life need to go (definitely). And we need a citizenry that is willing to effect change. Keep up the good work!! Sincerely, Linda Salisbury
In response to “A Letter to Real Democrats” by John Nevola, I say, Amen. Always enjoy reading ConservativeBattleline, Melanie Ennen
