Editor: On most of your article “Does Religion Matter” you are right. But you have forgotten one thing for a free country to succeed it must be a Christian nation. No nonreligious people will look out for their neighbor. And unless this country gets back to God and Jesus Christ it will all go down the drain. We cannot survive if everyone is in it all for themselves. We peons are not good enough to all those who say “there is no God”. Sincerely Rev. Larry R

Editor: Regarding Al Cardenas’ article “Immigration Challenge,” I feel we have had enough of the challenges from illegal aliens living in this country.  They are helping to bankrupt the U. S. A. and it is time to deport them all.  If they want to live in this country they can come here legally, work and support their family, pay taxes, pay for the college education of their children.  No more living off the taxpayers here.  And no more stealing from our tax system with their illegal child dependent refunds on their illegal income tax forms.  No more stolen I.D.’s. We can start with deportation and close our borders – seal them shut so no one can get through illegally. Thanks, Nelda Gracia

Editor: Regarding Al Cardenas’ “Immigration Challenge,” The first thing that has to be agreed upon is amnesties do not work. We have had a total of seven since the first ever in the history of the country was approved in 1986 and followed by a new or adjusted amnesty until the year 2000 and what are the results?………….Double the 6 million illegal aliens that were granted amnesty. Give 12 million amnesty and you will end up with 24 million waiting for the govt to capitulate and grant another amnesty which at some point citizenship is meaningless. Here are a few things to contemplate before even having an amnesty discussion: 1. Institute mandatory e-verify for all businesses and strictly enforce it. 2. Require all citizens searching for employment to get a new tamper proof SS card to eliminate multiple usage and fraud. 3. Amend the Immigration and Naturalization Act removing the anchor baby magnet by requiring at least one parent to be a US citizen as all other modern countries require. Currently there are 30K-40K babies a month born in the USA to non citizens. It is a terrible scandal. 4. Prohibit any welfare to non-citizens. 5. Make it a felony to sneak into the country or overstay a visa. The border will quickly quiet down with illegal aliens arriving. Wait for five years after implementation of all items and see whether there really needs to be another meeting or if the “broken system” is fixed.
