WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) Political Action Committee (PAC) today endorsed Congressman Connie Mack (FL – 14) for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat, currently held by Senator Bill Nelson. Congressman Mack received the “ACU Conservative” award for his score on the recently announced ACU 2011 Ratings of Congress.
“From his proven leadership on pro-growth economic policies and energy independence solutions to his courageous efforts to bring attention to dangerous and tyrannical regimes across the world, it is clear Connie Mack is the innovative, conservative leader ready to take on Bill Nelson this fall,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “Liberals in the Senate have rubberstamped President Obama’s agenda, and now it is time for voters to hold them accountable. Congressman Mack is one of many great conservatives running for Senate across the country, and the American Conservative Union PAC is proud to endorse him. The ACU PAC urges all Florida conservatives to support Connie Mack for U.S. Senate, and we look forward to aiding his victory in both the primary and general elections.”
“I thank Chairman Cardenas and the American Conservative Union for their strong support of my campaign to defeat Bill Nelson in November,” said Congressman Connie Mack. “With the help and support of conservatives across the Sunshine State, I will continue to fight for freedom, security and prosperity – fundamental ideals critical to reclaiming American Exceptionalism.”
The ACU Political Action Committee is the political arm of the American Conservative Union, the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. The committee supports candidates for office who reflect the conservative principles on which ACU was founded. The goals of the ACU PAC are to increase the number of quality candidates who share our commitment to conservative principles and to protecting and advancing the fiscal, social and security priorities of the Reagan era. These funds are utilized in conjunction with endorsements and public announcements to communicate our support for chosen candidates to their constituents and conservatives across the nation.
The ACU recently announced its 2011 Ratings of Congress, the 41st edition of the conservative ratings guide.
