We have said repeatedly that we needed a Republican majority in Congress to repeal Obamacare. It is a hard reality that after eight years of promises, there are some Republicans who actually support Obamacare. Repealing Obamacare was a rallying cry through four election cycles, including 2016 which swept in a new Republican President to drain the swamp.
Republicans who publicly renounce Obamacare but privately push to keep most of it are unworthy of future support. They symbolize the very frustration that voters have with Washington and the most unproductive Congress in 164 years.
The American Conservative Union applauds Leader McConnell and many GOP Senators who are working hard to find a free-market alternative to Obamacare. Failure to repeal Obamacare is unacceptable for a GOP majority that came to power on the pledge to get rid of President Obama’s failed healthcare law. The time to act is now and ACU urges all GOP members of the United States Senate to vote yes on repealing Obamacare and live up to the promises they’ve made to voters for eight years.
