Michi Iljazi and Jackie Anderson to Lead Policy Efforts
WASHINGTON DC – The American Conservative Union (ACU) and the American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), the nation’s original conservative grassroots organizations, announced the addition of two experienced staffers to strengthen the impact of the growing organizations. Mr. Michi Iljazi of Tampa, FL will serve as ACU’s Director for Government Affairs, and Ms. Jackie Anderson, of Fairfax, VA will serve as the Director of Policy and Public Affairs for ACUF.
The two new positions were created as ACU grows its presence on Capitol Hill and ACUF’s expands its educational initiatives like its Family Prosperity Initiative (FPI), the Center for Intellectual Property Rights, and the well-known ACUF State and Federal Ratings.
Iljazi, 34, ACU’s new Director for Government Affairs, has worked in External Affairs and Policy for the last several years, serving most recently as the Vice President of the Taxpayers Protection Alliance and his areas of expertise include taxes, regulations, healthcare, telecommunications, government spending, and energy. He earned a Master’s Degree in Political Science from American University.
Anderson, 30, led communications and coalitions efforts for the Institute for Family Studies and is a four-year veteran of the Heritage Foundation, where she oversaw their TV and radio operations and hosted their weekly policy podcast. She earned a degree from Penn State University where she double-majored in journalism and political science.
“ACU continues to be the organization that unites conservatives to win policy and political fights,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Conservatives can change the direction of the country when we find a common purpose in beating the collectivists and the resisters. We are pleased to have Jackie and Michi on the team to push our programs and to continue to enhance ACU’s role in the conservative movement,” said Schlapp.
