WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) today encouraged interested media and bloggers to register for credentials to cover CPAC Chicago on Friday, June 8, the first of a series of regional Conservative Political Action Conferences in 2012.
Every year, the ACU brings thousands of grassroots conservatives and conservative leaders together in Washington, DC for three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional values. This summer, CPAC is going back on the road. CPAC Chicago is taking the fight for the future of America directly to President Barack Obama’s backyard, the site of broken promises make to the American people on his election night in 2008. This one-day regional conference will energize and mobilize Midwestern conservatives, giving activists the tools needed to defeat the liberal agenda in 2012, while also highlighting rising conservative stars in the region.
Media & Blogger Credentialing:
CPAC Chicago is open to the press and the ACU welcomes members of the media and blogosphere to cover the conference’s full agenda of speeches, panels and special events. All media who plan to cover the event must apply for credentials. Applications are available online by visiting conservative.org/cpacchicago/media/request-credentials.?

“While I am relieved to hear about the release of Alan Gross, President Obama’s actions today fail to stand up for true democratic reforms in Cuba. Today President Obama insulted and betrayed the Cuban freedom fighters who fled Cuba with just the shirt on their backs. My father-in-law, now in the winter of a heroic man’s life, deserves the peace of mind knowing that America will always stand for human rights and human dignity.”
“President Obama apparently learned two things from the recent elections: circumvent Congress and blame Republicans,” said Schlapp. “Hagel’s firing comes directly after the irresponsible executive order on immigration last week.”
President Obama’s Executive Order is like a royal decree giving legal status to millions of people who came here and reside here illegally. The president is showing utter contempt for the American voter, the Constitution, the separation of powers and all those who follow the law.
“We are honored to announce that conservative talk radio powerhouse Mark Levin, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), and ACU Foundation Chairman Carly Fiorina will deliver remarks at CPAC 2015,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “These three conservative leaders reflect our desire to ensure that CPAC 2015 represents conservative policies that highlight the importance of free markets, national security, and traditional cultural standards.”
Over the weekend, American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Matt Schlapp and his wife Mercy, who was a spokesperson for President George W. Bush, appeared on FOX News’ Huckabee, where they spoke about their family’s history dealing with the Castro brothers in Cuba. Their story serves as a reminder to all of us that the freedoms we enjoy are often the result of individuals who have suffered, fighting for those freedoms in the first place.
Some of our favorite student activists at Hillsdale College’s Young Americans for Freedom are clearly ready for the holidays. But they aren’t asking Santa for gifts. They’re asking President Reagan to make their CPAC dreams come true! Watch their awesome submission for The Road to CPAC here:
Well, the U.S. Postal Service might not be able to deliver it! Instead of using valuable taxpayer dollars to fix the problems with mail delivery, they’re busy spending it on costly projects with other companies, like Amazon.
