January 4, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced former Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will deliver a special keynote address at CPAC 2012 – the 39th annual Conservative Political Action Conference.  America’s largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists will be held Thursday, February 9 – Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Washington, DC.  The FOX News contributor and New York Times bestselling author will conclude the three-day event, a slot occupied by Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and U.S. Congressman Allen West in the past three years.

“Few national conservative leaders in America today energize and inspire our grassroots activists like Governor Sarah Palin. Her strong record of leadership, championing of our shared principles and magnetic personality have made Sarah Palin a hero to millions of conservatives across the country,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “As we ready for the critical 2012 election, I’m honored to welcome Governor Palin to the Conservative Political Action Conference for the first-time ever.”

Every year, the ACU brings thousands of grassroots conservatives and conservative leaders together in Washington, DC for three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional values.

CPAC 2012 features an all-star line-up that also includes Ann Coulter, Senators Jim DeMint and Marco Rubio, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Governors Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, Congressmen Jim Jordan, Steve King, Paul Ryan and Allen West, former Senator Rick Santorum, Governor Scott Walker and many more.

The American Conservative Union is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization and was founded in 1964. The ACU has hosted CPAC in the Nation’s Capital since 1973. ACU’s Schlapp on Obama’s Cuba Policy Action

“While I am relieved to hear about the release of Alan Gross, President Obama’s actions today fail to stand up for true democratic reforms in Cuba. Today President Obama insulted and betrayed the Cuban freedom fighters who fled Cuba with just the shirt on their backs. My father-in-law, now in the winter of a heroic man’s life, deserves the peace of mind knowing that America will always stand for human rights and human dignity.”

ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp on Hagel Resignation

“President Obama apparently learned two things from the recent elections: circumvent Congress and blame Republicans,” said Schlapp. “Hagel’s firing comes directly after the irresponsible executive order on immigration last week.”

ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Executive Amnesty

President Obama’s Executive Order is like a royal decree giving legal status to millions of people who came here and reside here illegally. The president is showing utter contempt for the American voter, the Constitution, the separation of powers and all those who follow the law.

Mark Levin, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina to Speak at CPAC 2015

“We are honored to announce that conservative talk radio powerhouse Mark Levin, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), and ACU Foundation Chairman Carly Fiorina will deliver remarks at CPAC 2015,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “These three conservative leaders reflect our desire to ensure that CPAC 2015 represents conservative policies that highlight the importance of free markets, national security, and traditional cultural standards.”

Schlapp-on-Huckabee

Over the weekend, American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Matt Schlapp and his wife Mercy, who was a spokesperson for President George W. Bush, appeared on FOX News’ Huckabee, where they spoke about their family’s history dealing with the Castro brothers in Cuba.   Their story serves as a reminder to all of us that the freedoms we enjoy are often the result of individuals who have suffered, fighting for those freedoms in the first place.

On The Road to CPAC with Hillsdale YAF!

Some of our favorite student activists at Hillsdale College’s Young Americans for Freedom are clearly ready for the holidays. But they aren’t asking Santa for gifts. They’re asking President Reagan to make their CPAC dreams come true! Watch their awesome submission for The Road to CPAC here:

Did you send your letter to Santa yet?

Santa may not get your letter thanks to the US Postal Service

Well, the U.S. Postal Service might not be able to deliver it! Instead of using valuable taxpayer dollars to fix the problems with mail delivery, they’re busy spending it on costly projects with other companies, like Amazon.
